Bruce Sostek, Board Chair
“We hope you enjoy this new digital annual report. It is a great reflection of our continuing growth as a community of giving, as well as a demonstration of what can happen when we all work together to support our school and its mission - not only financially, but in every way.
Greenhill’s 2017-2018 academic year was a particularly meaningful one, as it marked both the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one. Greenhill was truly fortunate to have had the benefits and guidance of Scott Griggs as Head of School for eighteen years. As part of our farewell to Scott it was my pleasure to acknowledge his “Legacy of L's" and to reflect upon his Leadership, Loyalty, Longevity, Literacy, Life of Learning, and Love for Greenhill. Scott will always be remembered for leaving Greenhill a much better place than he found it - one of the very best aspects of his enduring legacy.
This year we were also excited and proud to welcome Lee Hark and his family to Greenhill, and to watch Lee start his journey as Head of School, and begin placing his own unique stamp on our school. The abundant energy, enthusiasm, and intellect that Lee brings to Greenhill is both impressive and contagious. I know that everyone who meets him will quickly appreciate what a great “fit” he is for Greenhill, and for our community. It has been my privilege to work with two outstanding Heads of School during my tenure as Board Chair of this exceptional place, and along with all of you, and with your help, I look forward to even greater things to come.”
Thank you to our 2017-18 Board of Trustees for their commitment, support, and leadership of Greenhill School.
The board is the guardian of the School’s mission. It is the board’s responsibility to ensure that the mission is appropriate, relevant, and vital to the community it serves. The board monitors the success of the school in fulfilling its mission and they work in partnership with the Head of School.
