Theater Productions
Greenhill thespians took to the stage this year as they performed Big Fish! in the fall and She Kills Monsters in the spring. Seven members of the Greenhill musical cast of Big Fish! earned nominations for the 2022-23 Schmidt & Jones Awards. See the list here. Band and String Solo and Ensemble Festival
Greenhill Middle and Upper School band and strings members competed at the TPSMEA North Instrumental Solo & Ensemble Festival in March. The students were very successful, earning 72 Superior medals. In addition to earning medals, 12 Upper School Band members and four String members qualified for the TPSMEA State Solo & Ensemble Contest. Click here to read the story.
Cultural Arts Committee
The Greenhill Cultural Arts Committee continued Music on the Quad this year by brining Remy Reilly to perform in the fall and Sweet Steel, Goga, Guzheng in the spring.
Debate Team Accomplishments
A school record of 43 Greenhill Speech and Debate students qualified for the Texas Forensic Association State Tournament. The Greenhill Debate team placed tenth in the Team Sweepstakes out of 173 schools. In World Schools Debate, four out of five of the teams made it to the quarterfinals with two advancing to the semifinals.
Fourteen students qualified for the National Speech and Debate Tournament. Greenhill teams placed third and ninth place in World Schools Debate. At the Tournament of Champions, Adam Kesselman ’24 reached the semifinals in Lincoln Douglas Debate and was the seventh individual speaker, and Seth Lee ’24 reached the double octo finals.
Middle School Spring Fling
The second annual Spring Fling Fine Arts Festival showcased Middle School success in the arts. The event was filled with student performances and student art displays that included photography, paining, and more.
Montage's Silver Crown Award
Montage, Greenhill’s student-produced literary art magazine, received a Silver Crown Award for outstanding publication design and content achievement. The Crown Awards are the highest recognition the Columbia Scholastic Press Association gives to a student print or digital medium for overall excellence.
CSPA’s Board of Judges selected 225 award winners from more than 800 entries submitted from across the country and around the world. For the past six years, Montage has been named a finalist five years, with the only non-finalist year during Covid, winning three Gold Crown Awards and two Silver Awards for the other.
