Out of nine Greenhill seniors that were named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, eight of those seniors were selected as Finalists.
 

In partnership with the science department and EarthxFilm, alumnus/filmmaker Neil Gelinas ’97 gave a free screening of his film "Into the Okavango," about complex and challenging conservation efforts in Africa.
 

Greenhill celebrates its 68th birthday with Founders’ Day Ceremony on September 11, 2018 that also welcomed a new chapter in Greenhill history with the introduction of fifth Head of School Lee J. Hark.
 

Darryn Sandler '95 (Upper School Math), Jaye Andrews (Middle School Math), and Nora Garcia (Lower School Spanish) were named Faculty Leaders; Rachel Estrada (Technology Associate) received the Penny Nicholson Award.
 

The Greenhill Red Quiz Bowl team captured its first-ever high school tournament crown in the fall in San Antonio.
 

Greenhill Robotics Team (Motorheads) took home the top prize at qualifier competition and both teams, Motorheads and Viridian, advanced to the regional qualifiers.
 

Greenhill welcomed 513 visitors for Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day before the Thanksgiving break. Gratitude and family togetherness filled the air!
 

Greenhill School sent 20 faculty and staff members along with six students to the Student Diversity Leadership Conference/NAIS People of Color Conference in Nashville.
 

The second annual Hornet Hustle, hosted by the Greenhill Alumni Board, brought the community together for a fun run in April benefitting the Greenhill Fund.
 

Greenhill sophomore Sonia Dhingra published an article in Scientific American, titled "What High School Engineering Taught Me, and How It Can Empower Other Girls."
 

Former Board Chair Sally Dunning was one of five women recognized with the 2019 Maura Women Helping Women Award by the Texas Women’s Foundation. Sally is a current Greenhill grandparent.
 

During Alumni Weekend 2019, the alumni board announced John Burnett '74 as the recipient of the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award.
 

Greenhill sixth graders Asha Blewett, Chloe Nguyen, and Lukas Palys took the top-three spots in their division of the 2019 Letters About Literature competition, sponsored in part by the Texas Center for the Book.
 

Lower School computer science teacher Lauren Marold was selected as an ISTE Outstanding Educator for 2019 by the Independent and International Schools Network (IISN).
 

Greenhill mourns the passing of two influential figures in Greenhill history, Founder Charley Leathers and Sally Estes, the first woman to chair the Board of Trustees and first Parents’ Association President.
